We are excited to announce that the Champer Lab has joined the Outreach Network for Gene Drive Research as its newest member. Based at the School of Life Sciences at Peking University, the Champer Lab focuses on refining and testing different gene drive approaches and designs in organisms including the common fruit fly and mosquitoes.

Part of the laboratory’s research involves computational modeling to predict the performance of gene drives in natural populations. Modeling is also used to assess drive variants and performance models prior to conducting experiments, which are then used to further refine quantitative mechanistic models.
