This exhibit is a celebration of major conservation efforts by Island Conservation on five islands: Gwaii Haanas, Canada &#8211; Okinoshima, Japan &#8211; Kaho\u2019o\u2019lawe, Hawaii &#8211; Palmyra Atoll, Northern Line Islands, South Pacific &#8211; Isla Floreana and Seymour Norte, Galapagos.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1857\" src=\"https:\/\/genedrivenetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/30489408072_71b97b4f3f_o-df3.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" caption=\"false\" srcset=\"https:\/\/genedrivenetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/30489408072_71b97b4f3f_o-df3.jpg 1383w, https:\/\/genedrivenetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/30489408072_71b97b4f3f_o-df3-960x720.jpg 960w, https:\/\/genedrivenetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/30489408072_71b97b4f3f_o-df3-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While they cover only five percent of Earth\u2019s land, islands are home to more than forty percent of the world\u2019s endangered species as a result of major threats such as invasive alien species, habitat loss and climate change. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.islandconservation.org\/\">Island Conservation<\/a> is an organization working to protect biodiversity and prevent extinctions on islands by removing invasive species from fragile ecosystems.
