The network supports coordination among members, information sharing, and engagement with key stakeholders, in order to raise awareness of the value of gene drive research for the public good and of the need for continuous efforts in its advancement.<\/p>\n<p>The Network\u2019s members are researchers and organisations working on gene drive research for public interest, organisations involved in outreach, stakeholder engagement and other relevant fields, as well as funders or supporters of these activities.<\/p>\n<p>Current members of the Network are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.islandconservation.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Island Conservation<\/a> (a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geneticbiocontrol.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Genetic Biocontrol of Invasive Rodents<\/a> partner), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.targetmalaria.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Target Malaria<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gatesfoundation.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ihi.or.tz\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Ifakara Health Institute (IHI)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ucimi.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The University of California Malaria Initiative<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/iepi.mcmaster.ca\/\">McMaster Institute on Ethics &amp; Policy for Innovation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.malarianomore.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Malaria No More<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pirbright.ac.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The Pirbright Institute<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.papathanos.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Insect Genetics Group, Hebrew University of Jerusalem<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lstmed.ac.uk\/research\/departments\/vector-biology\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM)<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reviverestore.org\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Revive &amp; Restore<\/a>, Dr. Daniel Maeda, Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of Dar es Salaam,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.akbarilab.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The Akbari Lab at UCSD<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/advancedconservation.org\/\">Advanced Conservation Strategies<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/conservationxlabs.com\/\">Conservation X Labs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All Members commit to the Network\u2019s statement of mission and principle. The core activities of the network are supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. All the Members contribute to the Network through their participation in its activities, and\/or through financial contribution to support specific activities.
